Fun fact: 1. George Cole played young Ebenezer Scrooge in the 1951 version of _Scrooge,_ staring Alistair Sim. (Look for Patrick Macnee of _The Avengers_ fame as a young Jacob Marley.) 2. George Cole was also in Sir Laurence Olivier's _Henry V_ (1944) in a role titled, "The Boy".
Evidently, he never understood why he was so well thought of in _Minder._ (As a matter of fact, my friends and I here in Canada used to call it _Arthur._ ) I think that was because it was so obvious he was having so much damned fun playing the scallywag.
I didn't realise this song existed. It's brilliant cockney tribute for Arthur :) Minder made it's mark with this song, it's classic theme tune and there was a computer game released for the Spectrum, C64, Amstrad CPC etc... I think we've all come across an Arthur Daley throughout our lives. I used to work with a guy, who could get hold of anything. From DVDs to mobiles and ski jackets lol
He'll fall off the back of a lorry ??? great lyrical tongue twisting genius song that tells their story beautifully! It ain't a crime, it well yeah it is a crime but ?????
Loved minder fantastic good with dennis waterman went down when brought in gary webb some woofter who thought he was gods gift to woman ..cheek jarr terrance
Wonderful stuff. I've just set myself the task of watching through all 110 episodes of the complete Minder box-set and I must say just 3 episodes in so far and it's just as funny, clever and warm as it ever was. Classic TV, good old George Cole, he was brilliant as was our Terry, Dennis Waterman, what a team, some of the best comedy/drama ever produced by ITV, just brilliant. And I had almost forgotten about this little gem, what a fun little record, thanks for sharing.
